National Drug Council
The National Drug Council Trinidad and Tobago, expanded its public awareness strategy in 2024 by launching a podcast series, providing a platform for experts, policymakers, and affected individuals to discuss drug prevention, mental health, rehabilitation, and law enforcement strategies. This podcast series, created in recognition of International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking 2024. Its intent is to strengthen action and cooperation to achieve a world free of drug abuse. The podcast series features six episodes that cover various critical topics, including synthetic drugs, mental health, and the illicit production of drugs, reinforcing the Council’s commitment to public education and informed dialogue on drug-related issues, these episodes are available to be viewed on the Ministry’s Facebook page.
The series aims to raise awareness of these important issues in a more accessible and engaging format by involving subject matter professionals in casual discussions. This helps bridge the gap between policy frameworks and the everyday experiences of the public. Key stakeholders and individuals with success stories, contributed to advancing the National Drug Council’s (NDC TT) mission as a critical point of contact for efforts in both demand and supply reduction. This podcast series will contribute in educating the public about the NDCTT’s objectives and initiatives. The intent is to engage a broader audience and foster a better understanding of the Council’s work.
