Minister of National Security, the Honourable Fitzgerald Hinds M.P. delivered the feature address at the Opening Ceremony for the National Cybercrime and Cyber Security Sensitization Workshop on Friday January 26, 2024.

From October 02 – 06, 2023, the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Management (ODPM), in collaboration with the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) and the World Hope International (WHI), hosted an Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) Training Session for 36 members of the Defence and Protective Services.

On September 13, 2023, the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service welcomed 97 recruits of Batch 1 of 2022, Squads A through E, who officially became police officers at a graduation ceremony held at the Police Academy, St. James.

On Friday 15 September, 2023, thirteen (13) graduates received certificates and tokens during the First Graduation of the Case Care Management Pilot Programme, held in their honour at the Probation Services Division, Henry Street, Port of Spain.

CONTINUING PROMISE MISSION 2023- On September 8, Ambassador Candace Bond donated on behalf of the United States Embassy US$1.6 million in equipment, including four riverine craft and an operations center, to the Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard, at Staubles Bay, Chaguaramas. The equipment was funded by the U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) and the U.S. Department of State: Bureau of Intl Narcotics & Law Enforcement (INL).

On Friday 08 September, 2023, the Closing Ceremony for the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force/ USNAVSOUTH Continuing Promise Mission 2023 took place at the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force Military Academy, Corinth. Continuing Promise 2023 is an initiative by the U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) to increase the capacity of partner nations throughout the Americas and foster international relations.
