The launch of the Joint Partner Project, is a joint initiative of the CARICOM Implementation Agency for Crime and Security (IMPACS), working in collaboration with the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA), the University of the West Indies (UWI) – George Alleyne Chronic Disease Research Center (GA-CDRC) and the Small Arms Survey (SAS), was held on September 05, 2023, at the Hyatt Regency, Wrightson Road, Port of Spain.

Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Stakeholders met in Trinidad and Tobago to discuss Integrated Planning at a Workshop held from July 11 – 12, 2023.
Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, Dr. the Honourable Keith Rowley MP and Minister of National Security, the Honourable Fitzgerald Hinds MP met with members of the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) at a meeting on Monday July 03, 2023, to discuss strengthening regional security.
On Tuesday July 04, 2023 Minister of National Security, the Honourable Fitzgerald Hinds MP, greeted His Excellency Paul Kagame, President of Rwanda as he arrived at the South Terminal of the Piarco International Airport. President Kagame was in Trinidad a d Tobago to attend the Conference of the Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community.
In recognition of International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking 2023, the National Drug Council launched its activities on June 26, 2023 at the NALIS Audio Visual Room, Port of Spain National Library. A community youth networking initiative was launched, entitled ‘Liming with a Purpose – Engaging to be informed, Educate and Empower on the issues of drug control”.
Minister of National Security the Honourable Fitzgerald Hinds M.P. welcomed two hundred and fourteen (214) recruits into the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force (TTDF) on Saturday 03 June, 2023, at Teteron Barracks in Chaguaramas. Inducted at the Joint Passing Out Parade were 121 members of the Trinidad and Tobago Regiment, 42 members of the Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard and 51 members of the Trinidad and Tobago Air Guard.
On June 12 2023, Minister of National Security the Honourable Fitzgerald Hinds M.P. attended the opening ceremony for the official launch of the Regional Training Course on the Control of Illicit Drug Trafficking for Female Officers which took place at the Police Training Academy, St James. The training targets female officers who perform counterdrug tasks at the operational level ideally in the maritime/port domain.
