On Tuesday May 02, 2023 Minister of National Security, the Honourable Fitzgerald Hinds MP, attended the graduation ceremony for seventy-nine (79) officers of Cohort 2 and 3, who graduated from a nine month training programme, administered by the Strategic Services Agency, National Security Training Academy (NSTA). The ceremony was held at the Gymnasium of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service Academy, St. James.

The Trinidad and Tobago Forensic Science Centre (TTFSC) has received a new forty (40) foot container for the purpose of evidence storage. The storage facility was donated by the United Nations Regional Centre for Peace, Disarmament and Development in Latin America and the Caribbean (UNLIREC) and the Government of Canada. The evidence storage container was commissioned at a Handover Ceremony held on Monday April 24, 2023 at the TTFSC in Federation Park, Port of Spain.

On Tuesday 25 April, 2023, Minister of National Security the Honourable Fitzgerald Hinds M.P. attended and delivered the Keynote Address at the Opening Ceremony for the Fourth CBSI Technical Working Group Meeting on Preventing Illicit Trafficking of Firearms, at the Hyatt Regency, Trinidad.

Minister of National Security, the Honourable Fitzgerald Hinds M.P. attended the CARICOM Regional Symposium on “Violence as a Public Health Issue – The Crime Challenge” on Monday 17th and Tuesday 18th April, 2023 at the Hyatt Regency, Trinidad. The two day symposium, which was aimed at promoting dialogue and regional action for violence reduction and crime prevention saw several CARICOM Heads of Government participating and presenting on their various experiences.
